Welcome! I am currently a research associate in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
My research focuses on understanding how instances of secondary caries in dental restorations can be reduced to maximize their clinical lifespan, primarily by developing polymer-based materials functionalized with non-leaching antimicrobials. It leverages the use of silane chemistries found in textiles, plastics, and surface treatments. Concurrently, I am interested in exploring the application of computational and numerical methods to complement traditional theory and experimentation in the materials development process.
I previously studied Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University.
